About the Carer Payment calculator

Carer Payment is an income support payment for people who give constant daily care to someone with a severe disability, illness or frailty. It’s paid at the same rates, and tested with the same income and assets tests, as the Age Pension.

There are also limits on how many hours a week you can spend on paid work, study, training or volunteering, and the person you care for must meet their own tests.
